Thoughts About the Origins of Sonic the Hedgehog

Many fans of Sonic the Hedgehog find themselves wondering who he is, and where did he come from. Some may even ask themselves why sonic runs so fast, and why does he have blue hair? In the history of video games Mario, Lara Croft were some of the dominating characters till the mid of eighties. Sony belongs to a poor family living upon scraps of foods left by local people on the street. Unfortunately Sonny's dad has expired after falling into a vat filled with toxic wastes when Sony was just few days old.

At a young age Sony was found by a kind hearted scientist Dr. Kintobor who was trying to capture all the evil into seven harmless Emeralds with the help of a special treadmill designed by him. The role of Sonic in the experiment was to run on the mill to generate energy. But the mess happened when Sonic started running too fast on the mill which led to a huge explosion. Due to this explosion the brown colored hedgehog Sony transformed into a blue colored hedgehog with some special powers like running faster than sound and creating a furry blue circular saw to fight with enemies. In this explosion Sony's normal shoes were destroyed and later on Dr. Kintobor made special shoes which will not burn up.

After few days Dr. Kintobor started to repair the machine and spilled coke on it and the machine exploded. This explosion turns Dr. Kintobor into a devil character Dr. Robotnick or the Eggman. The machine exploded into hundreds of gold rings and those Emeralds (Chaos Emeralds) were scattered across the world.

Today Sonic the Hedgehog has become almost twenty years old with immense popularity all over the world. Although this popular character overshadowed his creator but it also shows the world what kind of revolution a simple animated character can do. It is a lesson to all the creators of video games to design new games and characters continuously because who knows that when a new character will come and engulf an existing character like the previous example of Sonic the Hedgehog. The simplicity of the playing platform and innovations in detail and sound mix, continue to captivate fans all over the world. Sonic video games are one of the few classic game series parents will have a chance to share with their children and talk about the day when they enjoyed these games as well.
